Privacy Policy for Culla

Last updated: 16 August 2026

The short version: Your photos never leave your device. There are no accounts, no servers of ours, no analytics, and no tracking across apps or websites. Culla does show ads, and the only data that ever leaves your iPhone is what Google needs to deliver one.

Information we collect

None. Culla has no servers of its own. We cannot see your photos, your decisions, or your usage, because none of it is ever transmitted anywhere.

Photo library access

Culla asks for access to your photo library so it can do the one thing it exists to do: analyse your photos on your device to find similar and duplicate shots, and delete the ones you choose. All analysis — including similarity detection and image-quality scoring — runs locally on your iPhone using Apple's on-device frameworks. No photo, thumbnail, or derived image is ever uploaded.

What is stored on your device

To avoid re-analysing your library every time you open the app, Culla keeps a private index in the app's own storage on your iPhone. It contains:

This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you delete the app.

How deletion works

Culla never deletes anything on its own. Photos you mark are only removed after you confirm on the review screen and then approve iOS's own system confirmation dialog. Deleted photos go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where they remain recoverable for 30 days.

Advertising

Culla shows ads in two places, and it is worth being precise about the difference.

An ad you choose. Culla gives you five minutes of free cleaning time a day. When that runs out you may choose to watch a short video to earn three more minutes. Nothing is requested unless you tap.

An ad you don't choose. After you finish reviewing and deleting photos, an ad appears on every second completed review. You are not asked first. Culla Premium removes it, along with the daily limit.

Ads are served by Google AdMob. When an ad is shown, AdMob receives the technical information it needs to deliver a video, such as your device type, coarse region, and an advertising identifier. We ask AdMob for non-personalised ads only, so ads are not targeted using a profile of you, and Culla never shows the "Allow tracking" prompt. Culla does not track you across apps or websites.

Your photos are never involved. No photo, thumbnail, filename, or anything derived from your library is sent to AdMob or anyone else. Time you earn is stored on your device and expires at midnight.

Google's handling of this data is covered by its own policy: business.safety.google/privacy.

Other third parties

Culla contains no analytics and no crash-reporting SDKs. Google's ad SDK is the only third-party code in the app, and it is used solely to serve the two ads described above.

Children

Culla is not directed at children under 13. We collect no personal information from anyone, including children, and ads are requested as non-personalised.
